System Administrator is a SAGE level II or III sys admin, working to support a large, complex, high-availability site consisting of hundreds of machines, multiple operating systems and dozens of services. Day-to-day duties will cover all aspects of web, database, and application server life-cycles; from installing new hardware, software and operating systems, support of existing servers and platforms, scripting, effecting bug and security patching, performance monitoring and tuning, break/fix troubleshooting, to retirement or upgrade of older hardware and platforms. Frequent interaction with end users is the norm, as is participation in long-term projects with vendors and other internal groups.

Qualified applicants will have 2-5 year of production-level Unix System Administration experience • Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Solaris 8-10 • Experience with scripting and debugging in languages such as sh, bash, perl, php, ruby.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional relevant training courses (from colleges, universities, conferences or corporate) are a plus

• Understanding of basic backup system concepts

•           Working knowledge of storage architectures and technologies (RAID, NAS, FCAL, SATA, volume management)

•           A firm grasp of basic networking concepts including routing, subnets and firewalls

•           Experience with apache, jboss, postfix, DNS, NFS, cfengine, monitoring tools, and ticket tracking systems
